(303) 674-7750 A Final Resting Place for Pets

On Sun Dec 24, 2006, Christmas Eve day, I called the Evergreen Pet Cemetery for help. I did not know if anyone was going to answer but they did. I spoke to a gentleman and neglected to get his name. I told the man that I was Officer Guy with the Jefferson County Animal Control and went on to explain that an Evergreen resident’s little dog had been killed by two other loose dogs that morning and he had witnessed it. I explained that the dog owner was disabled and very distraught over losing his companion of 14 years. He had been trying to find someone to pick up his dog, Otis, and wanted him cremated, but no one was open. He was having a very hard time and I was trying to help him. The gentleman on the other end of the phone from EPC was very compassionate and understanding. He said that was a terrible thing to have happen on Christmas and they would be able to help. He said Steve would be able to go pick up Otis that afternoon.

On Tuesday Dec 26th our office was doing a follow up with the dog owner, Fred Hinkley. He was very grateful for the help he received from EPC. He said they were going to bill him and he would pay later because he did not have any money. I saw the bill that showed $100.00, individual cremation and ashes to be returned. I know this is a great discount and that you must have decided to give on your own.

I Just wanted to thank you for all of your help in this time of need. Not only was it Sunday but a holiday and a citizen in need. You came through for us and him and were wonderful. Thank you for everything you do and for caring so much about this predicament. I commend you!Officer Guy, Jefferson County Animal Control, Golden

Dear Carol, Ron and Blue: Thank you so much for your loving kindness – in my grieving of Girl – this was so difficult for me – Thank you for making it easier to get through. You gave Girl’s passing great dignity and grace- and I appreciated your hospitality – Thank you so very muchDebra, Denver

Dear Ron and Carol – We want to thank you both for the help you gave us during a very difficult time. Casey’s death devastated us as it was so sudden and unexpected. We appreciate your compassion and understanding as you helped us bury our beloved puppy. Having a place to visit Casey has helped us begin to accept his passing and we are grateful that you have set aside a place for those who know how special the human animal bond can be. We will be visiting you shortly to discuss a stone for Casey’s grave. Our best to you.Bert and Cheryl, Centennial

A quick note to say thank you for your help in providing a final resting place for my dog Spirit. She was so very special and loved so much by me. I feel very good she is at such a wonderful place, the other animals I am sure are watching over her. I will be up soon to pick out her headstone as soon as I am emotionally up to it. The circumstances surrounding her heath have hurt very deeply. Well, enough for now. Thank you againSandra, Denver
